Back to Now

Now is the resonance of this moment with all moments similar to it. But whereas the past is determined, the future branches into infinite possibilities. All these possibilities interfere with each other effectively canceling each other out. That’s why, in practice, although we can remember our past for many years, it is hard to intuit our future.

But sometimes the different futures do converge leaving us with little uncertainty. Actually this is what is happening all the time in the domain of classical physics. Hence “The Laws of Nature”. But going either below or above that level of inanimate existence our ability to predict nears zero. That is true both in the quantum domain as well as the realm of man. It is only in relatively rare cases our possible futures converge to a point so that we can accurately sense what is coming along.
